The greater Nashville area’s tech sector is growing. That growth is being supercharged by an impressive list of big tech and tech-enabled companies choosing to make Nashville home. And because technology is essential to just about every organization today, the jobs requiring highly skilled tech talent aren’t just in tech companies but across our economy.
Although Nashville has one of the fastest growing tech workforces in the nation (#1 over the past five years according to CBRE), there are more tech jobs in Nashville than there are people to fill them.
The Greater Nashville Technology Council (NTC) has made the growth of our tech workforce a top priority. The NTC, along with our regional partners, established a goal in 2018 to double the size of our tech workforce by 2025. By partnering with our area colleges and K-12 schools we are increasing awareness for tech occupations and the opportunities that exist. Our area bootcamps and apprenticeship programs are providing pathways for local underemployed workers to enter the tech workforce. We’re doing a great job growing our tech talent pipeline, but it’s just not enough to meet the demand. We need an infusion of talent now.
Fortunately, this challenge comes at a time of amazing opportunity for Nashville. Our national reputation has never been better and relocating to an exciting, affordable, tech-smart community like ours makes perfect sense.
TechIntoNashville is a national marketing and recruitment campaign, backed by the NTC and our area partners, to attract the most qualified and sought-after tech workers.
