What do you like best about your Tennessee office location?

We love the Grassmere section of the city. We’re centrally located and have employees from many various surrounding counties.All of our conference rooms are named after prominent buildings throughout the world, but of course we have all the Nashville area landmarks like The Ryman and the Parthenon.

What’s the most exciting thing about being part of the Nashville tech industry?

Nashville is a thriving tech hub and is set up to rival the major tech players like Silicon Valley. The word is out that Nashville is a great place to develop technology and we are seeing the influx of new tech companies joining us here. We are fortunate to have been here since the beginning.

How do you foster creativity, collaboration, and inclusion?

At Built we are all about building— from houses and skyscrapers to careers and relationships. We have established a D&I Committee’s whose mission is to champion every Builter as they build extraordinary and fulfilling careers on a foundation of trust, collaboration, innovation, and leadership by dismantling discriminatory barriers, facilitating meaningful conversations and education, and celebrating our diversity.

Describe your company's impact on the Nashville tech scene. How are you fostering its growth?

Built has had a 43% Headcount growth since 2020. In order to stay pace we have focused on 3 areas:
  1. Investing in our team members' professional development by ensuring that they have the right tools and resources to be successful in their role.
  2. In order to win the war for talent, we have invested in our hiring practices, so we can build and cast a wider net of talent in order to prioritize our diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
  3. Allowing our team members to have a voice is imperative to our growth. We want every team member to have a voice at Built. To do that, we’ve created engagement surveys that allow us to listen and learn in order to create meaningful shifts in culture. Our hope is that we can keep a pulse on what our team members value in order to continue to be the Best Place to Work in Nashville.

How have you created a modern structure that meets your employees’ diverse work styles?

We have specifically catered our Lifestyle Benefits to accommodate all of our team members. These include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Uncapped PTO
  2. Mini-Sabbatical Program - Every 4 years with Built (starting in 5th year), TMs are encouraged to take 3 consecutive wks of pd leave to do something extraordinary
  3. Flex Work Policy - Team members can choose hours but should be working during Built’s core hours (10-3 CT)
  4. Remote Work Policy - headquarter-based team members may elect to work remotely on Tu & Th each week
  5. Generous Parental Leave: Total of 12 wks paid for Primary Caregiver; 6 wks paid for Secondary Caregiver; +4 Week Reentry Ramp Period for Primary Caregiver
