MEDHOST is centrally located in the Cool Springs/Franklin area, which offers a wide variety of activities and venues including restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and fitness facilities. Often our employees take advantage of all these places.

What do you like best about your Tennessee office location?

Aside from the opportunities for growth in the tech space, Nashville is also a hotspot for healthcare organizations. Given the nature of our products and services, we couldn’t be in a better spot to attract and nurture the best healthcare IT talent in the industry. The proximity to live sports, great food, and fun activities doesn’t hurt either.

What’s the most Nashville thing about your company?

In the past decade Nashville has seen a huge spike in growth, attracting people and businesses from all over with varying backgrounds. Nashville has done well to embrace this growth and diversity, and in so remains one of the most welcoming, “up-and-coming” urban communities in the country. The MEDHOST community and culture is a microcosm of this exact spirit of camaraderie. We have in-house, remote, and contracted employees from all parts of the country and around the globe. Regardless of where our associates come from, we are all one MEDHOST team.

What are some popular spots for team outings?

Our team members tend to gravitate towards local volunteer opportunities with our partners like United Way, American Heart Association, and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You can also find us at local restaurants, practicing our swing at Top Golf, or catching a Nashville Predators game.

What’s the most exciting thing about being part of the Nashville tech industry?

GROWTH. Nashville continues to grow steadily in population and businesses, which continues to provide us with a competitive edge when it comes to attracting talent and creating opportunities.

How do you foster creativity, collaboration, and inclusion?

MEDHOST prides itself on its people and offers recognition programs for stellar achievements, paid certifications to invest in our associate’s education in both MEDHOST applications and career growth, and internal contests that foster creativity and collaboration. MEDHOST also hosts an annual “Hackathon” where teams compete to prototype innovations and ideas and present them to our executive team for consideration to become part of our many solutions and services.

Describe your company's impact on the Nashville tech scene. How are you fostering its growth?

In 1984 MEDHOST’s founding company, Healthcare Management Systems (HMS), was one of the first technology companies to call Nashville home. Since then, Nashville has become one of the nation’s healthcare epicenters and all throughout that (over 37 years), MEDHOST has proven a valued and reliable partner in developing solutions to meet the needs of our many neighboring healthcare organizations. While fulfilling our promise to the local healthcare and technology community, MEDHOST continues to remain actively engaged in helping find solutions to industry-wide healthcare challenges. Our associates and executive team are heavily engaged in local healthcare and technology council’s. In addition, by investing in our employees, we have also been able to contribute to the growth of tech talent in the Nashville area.

How have you created a modern structure that meets your employees’ diverse work styles?

MEDHOST understands the importance of a work-life balance and offers a flexible environment that strives to accommodate all our team members’ unique and changing needs. Because of this awareness, we were able to quickly pivot when the pandemic hit and continue to maintain flexibility where our associates need it most.
