What is your company doing to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion?
Foresight is committed to creating a fair and equal workplace and building a team of talented individuals from all different backgrounds. It is our priority to partner with local Tennessee organizations and universities to provide opportunities to those who are under represented in the world of technology through employment, internships, mentorship, and career workshops / education.
Describe your workplace vibe.
Our workplace is collaborative, fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic. We are a rapidly growing and changing company and while no two days are the same, we maintain focus on our larger ambitions to ensure the small day to day actions are in support of something larger. Everyone has the opportunity to be heard and contribute and we place high value on individual initiative.
Where are some common places employees be found after work hours (pre-pandemic)?
12 South, Germantown, East Nashville, Tailgate Brewery, Vui's, Urban Cowboy, Pinewood Social, Percy Warner Park, Natchez Trace Parkway
What do you like best about your Tennessee office location?
We love the flock of turkeys running around outside! The easy access to green spaces, amazing restaurants, and beautiful neighborhoods makes it incredibly easy to make the most of the day before, during, and after work.
What’s the most Nashville thing about your company?
Probably also the flock of turkeys running around outside! We love our cowboy hats, business meetings at Noshville, and our suits have gotten a lot less use since making Nashville HQ...
What are some popular spots for team outings?
Tailgate Brewery, Centennial Park, Percy Warner Park, or one of our founders houses. We also spend 2-3 days / week working at the Entrepreneur Center with our team.
What’s the most exciting thing about being part of the Nashville tech industry?
The Nashville tech industry is buzzing with energy; there are tons of companies doing amazing things, a supportive community of successful mentors, and a vibrant network of interesting people. Most refreshing after spending time in much larger cities is how eager everyone here is to build great businesses: whether giving ideas, making introductions, or building partnerships the Nashville tech community is incredibly supportive.
How do you foster creativity, collaboration, and inclusion?
We give everyone an opportunity to contribute, listen to all perspectives, and allow people the freedom to work in the ways that best suit them. We love having interns chime in during a brainstorming session, impromptu product discussions, and sharing our successes and challenges over weekly debriefs. Since moving here, we have been very intentional about going to in-person events and bringing our full team including the Entrepreneur Center Founder Night, Nashville Tech Council Summer Party, and Founder's Live inaugural event in the city.
Describe your company's impact on the Nashville tech scene. How are you fostering its growth?
We are fostering Nashville's tech scene growth by working to give as much as we get; we have felt incredibly supported since making Nashville HQ by folks who started as complete strangers. That energy is contagious and we are eager to pay that forward and help other Nashville businesses succeed in any and all ways that we are able.
How have you created a modern structure that meets your employees’ diverse work styles?
Our work philosophy embraces humility and the human-level understanding that people are inherently social beings but that life comes up. While we love getting together and working in-person, as long as our end goals are being accomplished we understand that life is unpredictable and that flexibility is necessary. Transparency is a foundational value we hold and we are proud to create a work environment where everyone is empowered to be themselves and be heard.
