What Four Keywords would best describe your company?

answer
For Life Out Here

What are your core company values?

Our rural lifestyle is a celebration of independence. Self-reliance is a source of great pride, but the “do it yourself” attitude doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. The spirit of neighbor helping neighbor, exemplified by traditional barn raisings, is the foundation of Life Out Here. This commitment to each other, to “being there” for our neighbors and friends, is what sustains us through good times and bad.
As a company focused on living out our Mission and Values, Tractor Supply is committed to “work hard, have fun, and make money, by providing legendary service and great products at everyday low prices.” This mission statement is supported by 10 values – ethics, respect, balance, winning attitude, communication, development, teamwork, change, initiative, and accountability – that drive every business decision we make and the way we interact with our customers and Team Members.

What is your company doing to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion?

Tractor Supply firmly believes in an equitable, accessible and inclusive culture built on its Mission and Values. We have established comprehensive 5-year diversity, equity and inclusion goals to support and advance underrepresented groups across its workforce, vendors, suppliers and communities that include the following specific, tangible actions. Find out more about our efforts here.

Describe your workplace vibe.

Team Members are our top priority. We work hard, have fun, and make money to win together. We do this through a purpose driven culture where everyone feels connected; empowerment to serve our customers, community and each other; and by providing opportunities for individual and professional growth.
We are not afraid to try new things, embracing a strong test and learn methodology to introduce new capabilities and technologies.

Where are some common places employees be found after work hours (pre-pandemic)?

We hire our customers, so our Team Members are normally living Life Out Here on their own farms, land, or traveling to experience the great outdoors.

What’s the most exciting thing about being part of the Nashville tech industry?

Technology has been at the forefront of the incredible growth and change that Greater Nashville has experienced the last several years. The tech industry in Nashville affords opportunities with large organizations and big-city amenities, but all with a small-town feel. The breadth of technology professionals across various industries allows for benchmarking and collaboration that helps to spur innovation and partnerships.

Describe your company's impact on the Nashville tech scene. How are you fostering its growth?

We established a scholarship for Columbia State students to increase opportunities for students studying computer information technology or a related field. A capstone course in emerging technologies was also established at Columbia State to provide students with hands-on technology experience. These efforts earned Tractor Supply the Columbia State Chancellor's Award. We are also part of the Greater Nashville Technology Council which has members of technology companies around Nashville come together to build programs for current IT Leaders and build future IT Leaders.
