What is your company doing to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion?
UDig is focused on building an environment focused on diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to build a Nashville team that reflects the diversity of the community and to cultivate an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome and feels free to be themselves. Our EVP is the President of Women in Technology of Tennessee (WiTT) and works hard to build a culture focused on equity and inclusion.
Describe your workplace vibe.
We don’t take ourselves too seriously, and we love to learn. We are currently working remotely in the Nashville area, so the workplace vibe might depend on how many pets or kids you have at home! When we do get together (remotely or in person), there is typically plenty of laughter and a tangent or two on a new trend in tech.
Where are some common places employees be found after work hours (pre-pandemic)?
51st Taproom
Pinewood Social
SATCO
Urban Grub
Cannery
Ballroom
Ascend Amphitheater
Percy Warner Park
The Fainting Goat
What do you like best about your Tennessee office location?
The commute (because it’s my house!)
What’s the most Nashville thing about your company?
Our involvement and commitment to the Nashville community. Nashville is an incredibly friendly community who gives back and offers help where it’s needed. We are very involved in the Nashville Technology Council, Women in Technology of Tennessee (WiTT), and Williamson Inc. A close second “most Nashville thing” is that only one of us is actually from Nashville.
What are some popular spots for team outings?
We are just starting to plan future monthly outings, so look out for us at a Nashville Sounds game, TopGolf, Arrington Vineyards, or maybe even goat yoga.
What’s the most exciting thing about being part of the Nashville tech industry?
It’s exciting to be part of the growth of Nashville. It feels like a once in a lifetime experience to be part of such rapid growth and transition, and tech is at the center of it.
How do you foster creativity, collaboration, and inclusion?
We believe success is only possible through trust, respect and transparency. At UDig, our mission, values, and brand promises are more than words on a wall. They inform how we treat our colleagues, who we bring on to our team and how we care for our client relationships. They represent who we are and what we believe. Collaboration and innovation are two of our core values. Our teams innovate through creative problem solving and collaborate to build meaningful relationships with our team.
Describe your company's impact on the Nashville tech scene. How are you fostering its growth?
Our Nashville team is embedded in the local community, and our local leadership has been involved in several initiatives to expand the local tech workforce, from creating a coding club in middle schools to leading WiTT, the local organization dedicated to supporting local women in tech. At UDig, we are focused on serving local clients with local talent.
How have you created a modern structure that meets your employees’ diverse work styles?
We have always had a flexible policy to enable employees to work from home. Last year we implemented a “Work from Anywhere” policy that gives employees the ability to work from wherever is best for them. As part of this policy, we have a stipend for equipment for employees to use to meet their diverse work style needs. All employees have access to tools to help promote communication and collaboration, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Slack. Our employees are encouraged to share their feedback and help us continually improve as an organization to help meet their needs.
